Get Ready for StarkNet (and Airdrops)

Introduction

After receiving a fat Optimism airdrop and with Arbitrum’s one about to come, we have seen that it pays to stay curious and open minded.

So why don’t you use StarkNet to get familiar with ZK Rollups underlying tech and maybe get an airdrop once again.

On top of it, all the newly launched projects on StarkNet do not have any tokens yet so airdrops on top of airdrops anon?

Last but not least the underlying tech is really good and txs should cost even less than on Optimism and Arbitrum in the future (once the network fully scales).

Wallet

Metamask does not work on StarkNet right now but you can either use Braavos or Argent.

Braavos: download their chrome/firefox extension and create your wallet on https://braavos.app

Argent: download their chrome/firefox extension and create your wallet on https://www.argent.xyz/argent-x/

Personally, we are more familiar with Argent (having already used their product in the past on Ethereum network). Argent X is even better as the wallet is built on a custom smart contract which allows you to perform several tasks in one go (approve/swap instead of doing 2 separates transactions for example). Argent also allows you to secure your private key with backups if you ever lose it. It is a nice addon for a fully non custodial wallet.

We would recommend to go with Argent X but you can use both (why not, Both Braavos and Argent do not have a token).

Once your wallet is setup and you have your 12 words, you are good to go. Time to bridge.

TO DO LIST: Install Argent X on your chrome/firefox, backup your private key and create your StarkNet address.

Bridge

You can either use the official StarkNet bridge or an unofficial one: Orbiter. Orbiter does not have a token but many bridges have already given tokens to their loyal bridge users.

DEX

There are many DEXes on StarkNet atm and difficult to say which ones will capture significant market shares but here are a few which holds potential according to us.

All of them do not have any tokens and can potentially airdrop a significant part of their supply to their users. That might be their best strategy to make users stick to their DEX.

10KSwap

It is a classic AMM with a community focus, live on StarkNet mainnet: https://10kswap.com/#/ (good candidate for a future airdrop). Attention the protocol is in alpha version and unaudited.

Alpharoad Finance

It is also a classic AMM live on StarkNet testnet: you can mint testnet ETH and arfBTC (alpharoadfinance BTCs) and start to play with the DEX (swap, provide liquidity and remove liquidity).
